Research and artistic activity
My research interests are situated in the field of German as a Foreign Language (DaF) and focus primarily on academic writing and academic text production in German as a foreign language. A central concern of my work is the investigation of writing processes, with particular emphasis on the cognitive, linguistic, and didactic dimensions of academic writing in a non-native language. Within this context, I am especially interested in writing process-oriented approaches, writing development, and the theory and practice of writing consultation and writing process support in higher education.
In addition, my research engages with the didactics and methodology of teaching German as a foreign language, including learner-oriented and competence-based approaches. Further areas of interest include intercultural communication as well as cultural studies (Landeskunde) with a specific focus on the German-speaking countries of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland (DACH). These interests are closely connected to questions of language, culture, and academic discourse in multilingual and intercultural learning contexts.
