THE MEDIEVAL CAPITAL OF BULGARIA

Veliko Tarnovo is located in North Central Bulgaria It is one of the oldest settlements in Bulgaria with a history of more than five millennia The city was known as Tsarevgard Tarnov and was the Medieval capital of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom Nowadays the population is about 70 000 people The numerous historical monuments attract tourists from all over the world The great number of students contribute to the youthful spirit of Veliko Tarnovo.

OUR CAMPUSES

Established on 15 September 1963 St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo is home to 9 faculties 2 branches and one academic unit in Sveti Nikole, Republic of North Macedonia, offering 277 study programs across linguistics, history, fine arts, law, philosophy, orthodox theology, economics, education, mathematics and informatics St Cyril and St Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo upholds its vision to become an innovative and leading university at both national and international levels.

The University Library holds a rich, multidisciplinary collection of over 400 000 pieces, including scientific and educational literature in Bulgarian and foreign languages, as well as rare and valuable editions.
