Library of the Faculty of Modern Languages

This is the oldest specialized library. It has a large stock of over 15,000 items (books, reference books, periodicals, dictionaries, and online resources) in the following fields: linguistics, literary studies, literary history, literary criticism, fiction, history, and philosophy. The specialized literature is available in Bulgarian, Russian, Polish, Slovak, Serbian, German, English, French, Italian, Spanish, Greek, and Japanese. The library also has a lot of reference books in many Indo-European, Turkic, and rare languages.

The library holds a portion of the private libraries of Prof. Ivan Galabov, Prof. Penyo Rusev, and of the writers Vasil Popov and Yordan Valchev. Thanks to these donations, its stock has been expanded with rare, valuable, and early editions by Bulgarian, Russian, German, French, Romanian, and other authors. These editions include critical and linguistic literature, fiction, historical research, periodicals, as well as dictionaries.

The library is a venue for meetings, gatherings, celebrations, and presentations of Bulgarian and foreign authors. It has 20 reading places, a computer, a projector, and a projection screen.
