Where and how can I take out a library card?

The issue of a library card shall be subject to the following conditions:

1. Students and doctoral candidates shall present their mark book, a recent photo, and a receipt for the fee paid*.

(The annual fee for issuing a library card should be paid at the branches of ALLIANZ BANK BULGARIA (in University Building No. 5 or at Mayka Bulgaria Square according to the distribution of the degree programmes). 

2. Lecturers, specialists and staff members of the University shall present their identity card, on the basis of which they shall be issued a book checkout sheet.

3. External users shall present their identity card, a recent photo, and a receipt for the fee paid.

Library cards are valid for a period of one year.

The library card is a personal document and its assignment to other persons is prohibited.

Can I use the services of the University Library if I am not a student at the University of Veliko Tarnovo?

You need to sign up as a reader of the University Library.

Is it possible to borrow a book for home use?

All students and doctoral candidates may borrow library materials for home use from both the Central Library and the branch libraries of the University.

External users are not allowed to borrow library materials for home use.

Can I browse the Library’s catalogue from my home PC?

Yes, you can. The Library’s e-catalogue is available at http://libserver.uni-vt.bg/absw/abs.htm.

How can I request a book or an article that is not available at the University Library?

You can request materials from another library in the country and abroad through interlibrary loan. However, only doctoral candidates and lecturers can benefit from this service.

How can I connect to the Central Library’s Wi-Fi network?

To do so, you need to connect to the University’s Wi-Fi network.
