There was a benefit concert dedicated to Prof. Srebra Mihaleva’s 70-year anniversary on 29 November. Former and current students of the distinguished lecturer joined her on the stage of the “Konstantin Kisimov” Music and Drama Theatre.
Before the concert began, Prof. Dr. Hristo Bondzholov, Rector of the “St. Cyril and St. Methodius” University of Veliko Tarnovo, awarded Prof. Srebra Mihaleva the Honorary Sign of the Rector for her merit and contribution to raising and strengthening the University’s prestige.
The event began with a surprise for Prof. Srebra Mihaleva – a video montage of her performances at the “Konstantin Kisimov” Music and Drama Theatre. The clip included bits of her roles on stage from the early years of her work at the Veliko Tarnovo theatre. The playbill continued with three performances by the professor followed by her students, her successors.
Among the guests were former students of Prof. Mihaleva, each of them with a career in music – Viktoriya Georgieva (member of the Music and Drama Theatre company), Steliyana Hristova (winner of “The Voice of Bulgaria 2”) and Yanitsa Ruseva (performer and vocal pedagogue).
Classical arias, duets, pop and jazz songs were part of the repertoire of Prof. Srebra Mihaleva’s current students. Their performance was in gratitude to their teacher, a lecturer who has devoted 22 years to music education at the University of Veliko Tarnovo. The concert dedicated to Prof. Srebra Mihaleva is part of the Holiday season bill of Veliko Tarnovo Municipality.
