за устен държавен изпит на студентите

от магистърска програма по лингвистика и превод

Устният държавен изпит включва следните компоненти:

1. Два въпроса от теоретичния материал /по един от следните два дяла:

І. Общотеоретични дисциплини – прагматика, синтаксис и семантика;

ІІ. Превод и съпоставително езикознание.

2. Превод на произволно зададен специализиран или художествен текст с коментар.

І. Общотеоретични дисциплини

  1. Прагматика
  1. Ways of defining pragmatics: as competence and performance; as the grammaticalized aspects of context; as meaning over and above truth conditions. Sentence meaning and utterance meaning.
  1. Implicatures. Specific features of conversational implicatures: defeasibility and      non-detachability. Kinds of conversational implicature.
  1. Presupposition. Semantic and pragmatic approach. Presupposition triggers. Presupposition and context.
  1. Austin's theory of speech acts. Performative verbs and felicity conditions. Explicit and implicit performarive utterances. Кinds of speech acts according to Austin.
  1. Searle's contribution to the theory of speech acts. Preparatory, sincerity and essentia1 conditions. Types of illocutionary acts according to Sear1e.

  1. СИНТАКСИС И СЕМАНТИКА
  1. The nuclear predication: the predicate frame, arguments and satellites, selection restrictions.
  1. The typology of states of affairs: parameters and configurations of functions.
  1. Semantic functions.
  1. Syntactic functions: the semantic function hierarchy (SFH), Subject and Object assignment.
  1. Pragmatic functions: extra-clausal and intra-clausal pragmatic functions, Topic and Focus.

II. ПРЕВОД И СЪПОСТАВИТЕЛНО ЕЗИКОЗНАНИЕ

  1. ПРЕВОД

1. Equivalence and equivalent effect in translation. Types of translation equivalence. Translation shifts/transformations in the context of equivalence.

2. The limits of translatability. Cultural terms and realia in translation: types of adaptation.

3. Language function, text type and translation. Appellative text type – advertising in translation. Specific features of advertisements. Translation problems and solutions.

4. Specialized languages in the context of translation: scientific and technical language, legal language, the language of official documents. Linguistic aspects of term formation. Documentation in translation.

5. Literary texts in translation. Genre-specific features. Expressive means and stylistic devices (phonetic, lexical and syntactic). Linguistic and cultural issues in literary translation.

  1. СЪПОСТАВИТЕЛНО ЕЗИКОЗНАНИЕ

  1. Contrastive analysis as interlanguage study: the Interlingua; criteria for comparison; translation equivalence; Transfer theory and contrastive analysis.
  1. Linguistic components of Contrastive ana1ysis: Levels of language description; Categories of grammar: unit, structure, class, system.
  1. Microlinguistic Contrastive analysis: General principles; Language models for grammatical Contrastive analysis.
  1. Macrolinguistics and Contrastive analysis: Text analysis; Discourse analysis.
  1. Contrastive analysis and Error analysis.
