DOUBLE-BLIND PEER REVIEW GUIDELINES
for the Education and Qualification Journal (PROCEDURE)
INDEXING AND REFERENCING
The Education and Qualification journal has been in publication since 2019 and is in the process of preparing an application for SCOPUS indexing. Therefore, the first stage of the procedure for accepting a manuscript for publication is its screening. At this stage, the manuscript may also be the sent back to its author if it has style or formatting issues to be resolved (regarding length, structure, style, citation style, font, transliteration in the references, etc.) in order to meet the FORMATTING REQUIREMENTS OF THE JOURNAL.
REVIEW
The International Editorial Board selects a Board of Anonymous Reviewers for each issue of the journal. The reviewers are prominent scholars in the field of educational science and they conduct an external double-blind peer review of each manuscript. The Editor-in-Chief deletes the author's name from the text of the article and from the properties of the electronic file, and then submits the proposed article to two reviewers. In the review process, the reviewers complete a special article review form, where they make a clear recommendation to accept or reject the manuscript, ("acceptance without revision", "acceptance after minor revision", "review again after revision"). If one of the two reviewers has rejected the article, the Editor-in-Chief will seek the opinion of a third reviewer and his/her positive evaluation will be a condition for the continuation of the procedure.
Upon receipt of the review reports, the Editor-in-Chief contacts the author with the reviewers’ evaluation and, if necessary, the reviewers’ comments and final recommendations are also transferred to the author ("Recommendations and general evaluation") for text changes and final revisions. The author returns the revised final version of his/her article within two weeks. The author’s name and affiliation are added to the text, the accepted manuscripts edited and formatted by the journal’s editorial and production team, and then the author is presented with a galley proof in order to accept or reject the changes. This is the final chance for the author to make (only minor) revisions.
The International Editorial Board decides on the final acceptance of the manuscript for publication. The editors have the right to reject any article that has been subjected to double-blind peer review and if it does not conform to the purpose of the journal and do not abide by the above-mentioned criteria.
