Ivan Tanev, a professor at the Department of Information Systems Design, Doshisha University, Kyoto, Japan would like to invite a Master course student from Bulgaria, fully sponsored by the Japanese Government, to study at Doshisha University.
The prospective student would enroll in a two-year International Science and Technology Master Course (ISTC). The lectures, seminars and other relevant activities of this course are conducted in English. Also, the student would be involved in a research, under the supervision of Ivan Tanev, in the field of evolutionary computing (genetic algorithms, genetic programming) and (or) its applications (e.g., design, optimization, control, etc.). The research discussions could be done in Bulgarian too. The concrete topic of research is both open and negotiable, depending on the professional interests and expertise of the particular student.
The student should be in his (or her) final year of a Bachelor course and, ideally, should be very motivated to explore novel and challenging paradigms in computer science or related fields.
