History
ICBS is a successor to The International Summer Seminar for Bulgarian and Slavic Language and Culture for Foreign Students that was established by the Ministry of the National Education in association with the University of Veliko Turnovo in 1978. The International Seminar now has a modernized structure and a wider scope of activities as a result of the development of Europe and the whole world at the end of 20th and at the beginning of our century. It is also a result of the new philosophy of the Higher Education abroad and in Bulgaria according to the Bologna Process and its concomitant reforms.
